The Hewitt Police Department is a community-oriented police department led by Chief of Police James Devlin. The department has evolved from a one-man department to 22 sworn officers, one reserve officer, six dispatchers, one animal control officer, nine civilian employees and 11 patrol cars.
The officers are available 24 hours a day to protect and assist the citizens of Hewitt and anyone who may be passing through the city. We have changed flats for elderly or ill individuals, unlocked car doors when keys are locked inside and helped people find lost children and pets.
The Hewitt Police Department will check a resident’s home when they are away, assist in engraving valuables with the owner’s driver’s license number, assist in setting up Neighborhood Watch groups, inspect homes or businesses for better ways to protect them and numerous other things only a caring small town police department will do.
The new Hewitt Public Safety Facility at 100 Patriot Court in Hewitt is conveniently located for quick access to all of Hewitt.
